Briefing for todays Malta mission 17:00
We have two focal points for our forces


Task Force Cheeky from North West supply point
We have a new convoy bound for Valleta harbour coming in from the North West
This convoy is a little further out, so it will require aproximately 3 missions to make it to the harbour
Also, airplanes will need some more flying time to reach it
Fighters keep this in mind when your fuel starts running low and you need to RTB





Enemy invasion forces at Calafrana Battery and Hal-Far Airfield
We still have an ongoing enemy invasion of the SE side of Malta near the Calafrana and Hal-Far Airfield area
Last mission we failed to sink one of the enemy fishing junks that was sailing to the shore from the South East
and the enemy managed somehow to land an Me-323 transport on the airfield
These units have already unloaded their ground forces, and again we will find enemy AAA in this area
We are to surgicaly search and destroy these forces
Be aware that we have friendly tanks operating in the area now - Vickers and Matilda tanks
Be very careful we do not destroy friendly forces with our bombs
We should also make a sweeping scan of the sea to ensure that we stop any enemy reinforcements landing on the island in that area

We will be fielding:


4x P40B: Airstart, 100% fuel
Nice new arrival from Cairo, not as potent as our Spitfires, but better then our Hurricanes Mk1s
Use this plane to engage enemy fighters as soon as possible
Fly out to the fleet then start searching Northwards for enemy fighters
Engage them aggressively


4x Spitfire: Airstart, 100% fuel
Same as P-40s, engage the enemy fighters aggressively so that we can then engage the enemy bombers in a more "sterile" enviroment
I've included a couple of FB spits armed with bombs and drop tank
These should drop their bombs on the enemy AAA on Hal-Far Airfield, and then move on to join the fighters on fleet CAP


2x Hurricane Mk2C: Airstart, 100% fuel
Closely CAP the fleet. We are counting on you guys at money-time
Don't waste ammo, save it for the enemy bombers
Stay low level over the ships, avoid engagements with enemy fighters
Let the Spitfires and Tomahawks work them over - stay alive
Conserve your fuel, reduce power & prop pitch
We need your cannons' hitting power vs the bombers


2x Blenheim: Takali Airfield, 75% fuel, 4x250
2x Beaufighter: Takali Airfield, 75% fuel, 4x250
1x A20C: Takali Airfield, 2x500+4x300
Search and destroy enemy units on Hal-Far and Calafrana area
Beaufighters use your cannons on the fishing junk right off shore
The enemy has unloaded 20mm, 37mm, AA guns and also 85mm AA artillery on the field
Attack with bombs before strafing, these guns killed 4 planes last mission, so be careful
We are to surgicaly search and destroy these forces
Be aware that we have friendly tanks operating in the area now - Vickers and Matilda tanks
Be very careful we do not destroy friendly forces with our bombs
We should also make a sweeping scan of the sea to ensure that we stop any enemy reinforcements landing on the island in that area
After you are confident there are no more enemy ground forces join the CAP over the fleet


1x B24J: Airstart, 50% fuel, 16x500
Attack Gela factories, but don't do this right at the start
Please make a sweeping sweep of the area North of Gozo all the way to the enemy coast
See if the enemy is sending any capital ships in the way of our supply ships coming out of the North West supply point
